Austin, TX Weather Update: No Rain Until Friday Night, 90s Heat Continues Midweek
Through the conclusion of the workweek, residents of Central Texas should anticipate warm, dry weather with low 90s temperatures and little to no precipitation until late Friday.
The Austin/San Antonio office of the National Weather Service says that through Thursday, high pressure will keep the sky in the area clear to partly overcast. Night lows will fall into the upper 50s and mid-60s, while daytime highs will be between 88°F and 92°F.
There is a 20% probability of rain later in the day when the moisture rises on Friday afternoon. Friday night into Saturday, hail and isolated storms are more likely to occur when storm chances increase to 30% over the Hill Country and I-35 corridor, including San Antonio and Austin.
Even though there isn’t any severe weather predicted for this weekend, locals should still be cautious of the weather, especially if they have outdoor activities. Highs on Saturday are expected to stay warm, ranging from 86°F to 93°F.
Authorities advise minimizing outdoor activities during the hottest afternoon hours, using sunscreen, and drinking plenty of water. Although the hot, dry spring weather pattern is typical in Central Texas, it might increase the fire risk in grassy areas.
