Northwest Texas Weather: Heavy Rain and Flooding Threat From Friday Night to Sunday Morning
This weekend, a delayed cold front is predicted to deliver storms and a lot of rain to northwest Texas, particularly from Friday night until early Sunday. According to the National Weather Service, areas north and west of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex may receive 4 inches of rain, with isolated totals potentially reaching even higher levels. Road flooding may occur, especially in Bowie, Sherman, and Graham.
The NWS predicts that one inch or less of rain will fall across most of North Texas, including the Central and East areas. Heavy rains may still occur in some regions, mainly from Saturday night until Sunday noon.
Residents are urged by the weather service to be informed and use caution, especially when driving. It is recommended that drivers stay vigilant for weather warnings and steer clear of flooded highways. More substantial rainfall is predicted to return the following week if this weekend’s rainfall totals fall short of projections. People in impacted areas must have their phones charged and prepared to receive weather notifications.
