Washington Freeze Watch: Moses Lake Could Hit 31°F Late Monday Through Tuesday Morning

With temperatures predicted to drop to around 31°F by early Tuesday morning, gardeners and growers in Central Washington and the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley should prepare for an unexpected cold snap on Monday night.

A Freeze Watch is in force for a large portion of the area, including Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Chelan, Quincy, and Lewiston, from late Monday night until 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Spokane National Weather Service. Additionally, Clarkston, Othello, Entiat, and Ephrata are at risk because frost might harm exposed crops and outdoor plumbing.

Residents are advised to cover plants, unplug hoses, and insulate exposed pipes before the temperature dips since sensitive vegetation is particularly at risk. With cold air gathering in low-lying places, agricultural zones like Cashmere and Pangborn Airport may be most affected.

After a few pleasant April days, this will be the most incredible night of the week. Farmers and homeowners alike should remain vigilant because if circumstances continue throughout the middle of the week, further freeze advisories may be issued.
